Dear Bridesmaids,
Without sounding like a control-happy kind of bride (hopefully), I would like to set out here for your reference the dress code for wedding-day attire for you, in lieu of forcing you all to wear the same dress! That would hardly be fair. I want you to be looking your best in a comfortable, flattering way!
Should you choose to wear a skirt or dress, my only request is that it is just above or below the knee or tea-length (mid-calf), classy, and black. Adornment such as crystal zippers or beading or what have you is great, but I'd like to keep other colours to a minimum, so if you choose a pattern, please make it black-on-black. Any neckline is great! Want a super-sexy halter? How about daring to go strapless? One piece, two piece, it's all good. They're your dresses, and honestly it's your money, so I want you to be able to wear it again, and everyone needs a classy little black dress. This season, next season - whatever you like. Black dresses are pretty timeless.
I'm posting a picture for you. This dress is by
Anne Klein and is more than I hope you will spend, but for the purposes of inspiration, I think it's great.
We can worry about jewelry at another time... for the time being: who wants to go shopping? Shall I just let you be or shall we arrange a tea-and-shopping day for some time this fall?
