Update October 15, 2006

Okay, ladies, all is go!

With Anne pretty much decided on the below pattern and with Lari now having found a dress as well (we'll get a picture soon), it's off a-shopping for Heather and I and then you ladies are all taken care of (of course, I'm always up for shopping any time - let's not let this stop us)!

I would also like to confirm that everyone is interested in seeing if I can get the Ottawa Makeup Artists to come 'round to see us on the wedding day. I believe the only person I've left to consult is the mother of the groom, but I will call and see if they are at least available as soon as I can.

Well, except for the tea part, the shopping sounds fun. So does a trip to the sassy bead co. I only went there a handful of times, and bought like..5 beads each time..but it's such a neat place! And now I've "embraced my inner crafter" I'd probably like it even more.

As far as dresses go, I think I'm going to have my aunt make one...and I am currently in love with this one.

The first white dress there. Only obviously in black :) I loff it, and I'm sure my aunt can make it for me. woot woot.

Girls Day Out

Hey ladies!

A response to Lis' questions: I think a shopping and tea day sounds great! Were you still thinking about going to Sassy and making our own jewellery? I'm tempted to force you into brideborg and get you to pick a dress for me ;) At very least, I want your utmost approval. The MoH must compliment her bride. :D

On Dresses

Dear Bridesmaids,

Without sounding like a control-happy kind of bride (hopefully), I would like to set out here for your reference the dress code for wedding-day attire for you, in lieu of forcing you all to wear the same dress! That would hardly be fair. I want you to be looking your best in a comfortable, flattering way!

Should you choose to wear a skirt or dress, my only request is that it is just above or below the knee or tea-length (mid-calf), classy, and black. Adornment such as crystal zippers or beading or what have you is great, but I'd like to keep other colours to a minimum, so if you choose a pattern, please make it black-on-black. Any neckline is great! Want a super-sexy halter? How about daring to go strapless? One piece, two piece, it's all good. They're your dresses, and honestly it's your money, so I want you to be able to wear it again, and everyone needs a classy little black dress. This season, next season - whatever you like. Black dresses are pretty timeless.

I'm posting  a picture for you. This dress is by Anne Klein and is more than I hope you will spend, but for the purposes of inspiration, I think it's great.

We can worry about jewelry at another time... for the time being: who wants to go shopping? Shall I just let you be or shall we arrange a tea-and-shopping day for some time this fall?
